Catholic Human Services is currently recruiting for full-time and/or part-time MDHHS Certified Peer Recovery Coaches to serve Alpena County and surrounding communities. These positions support our SUD Health Home program and include both community-based care coordination and hospital-based Project ASSERT services within the Alpena Hospital setting.

Coaches work as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team that includes peer recovery coaches, clinicians, physicians, nurses, and hospital staff to support individuals in achieving and sustaining recovery.
In addition to community-based services, selected staff may provide Project ASSERT services in the Alpena Hospital setting, engaging individuals in need of substance use screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment during emergency department and/or inpatient encounters. This role strengthens coordination between hospital-based care and community behavioral health and recovery support services.

• Working collaboratively with Catholic Human Services staff and Alpena Hospital clinical teams
The ideal candidate will have lived experience in recovery from substance use disorders and a strong commitment to supporting others in their recovery journey. Applicants with a personal history of substance use disorder should have a minimum of two years in sustained recovery.
